Ain’t the Internet Great?
I think we sometimes take the internet for granted. I’m sure I do. It’s part of everyday life, but the ease of access to information has become something we expect; it no longer suprises and delights us each and every day. (OK, so I can’t really speak for everyone, but I feel confident in this generalization).
Recently I got back in contact with an old, old friend of mine — my best pal from grade school in Newton, MA. I moved out of Mass. in high school, and while I tried to keep up with friends over the years, it hasn’t really happened like we said it would (big shocker there). I have talked with this guy occasionally over the years, but the email address I had for him was at a job he no longer has. I did, however, happen to mention his name in a blog post of mine a while back, and either through an ego search or a friend, he came across this post and emailed me. Had this not happened, there’s a pretty good chance I never would have talked with him again.
Isn’t the internet wonderful?
