What I was really saying is that when I click on “Download Flash Player” it opens adobe.com in a new window. After I’ve finished downloading the new player, there is no way to continue with adobe connect. Obviously the issue you bring up is annoying as well, however.

Are you saying that once you installed Flash 8 that you still received this same message? I get a similar error when I access certain areas of Vanguard.com. There, the site nags me to that Adobe Acrobat needs to be installed–which it most certainly is. Browser and plugin-sniffing javascript should provide the user the ability to override at will, which they oftentimes do not. Aggravating.
